I was started by dividing the work evenly, everyone got 5 questions to do. I struggled because I felt I didn’t have enough time to read through pages of information and changing it to my own words. But because we were a good team brendan did one of my questions and Stefan worked on the info graphic.

I did learn lot especially watching the other group present. Such as fair use laws, where by you can use other peoples work if it is for:

Creativity. What is it?

Posted: March 31, 2013 in Being Professional

I figured out what it is. When trying to figure out what creativity was I thought about what wasn’t creative. and to figure out what creativity is, it is the thought behind what you are doing. as obvious as that sounds, when you do something that hasn’t had the creative thought put behind it isn’t creative. as bland and as simple as that, is it is more complicated then that.

picture putting a can on a table. when you do that is it creative? answer it can be.
it is creative when you say to yourself “I am going to place this can on the table” It may be unimaginative and a bland idea. but It shows that you thought about where is the best place to place this can.

it is not creative if someone say “place the can on the table” or if you place the can on the table.

creativity is the thought behind doing something. this is the foundation of creativity

Creativity is fantasy whilst academic stuff is Science fiction. when fantasy is explained it becomes science fiction. When I say this I mean that when we don’t understand something we are not limited to knowing how it works there by letting us try new and unexpected things.

Creativity Project

I read this http://www.wikihow.com/Think-Like-Leonardo-Da-Vinci Then I rewrote it in english 🙂

Curiosity – Wonder, Dream and think. Keep asking questions, even if it’s a stupid question and you get an obvious answer the more knowledge you have on something the more you can work with.
a large project that we have a lot of space with. Find something you wonder about about.

Demonstration – To find proof and clarify. Learn from peoples or yourselves mistakes.

Find out as much on the topic as you can and see if you can find mistakes people have made including yourself. Whether it is looking to improve myki or your time management.

Senses – cater what you make to your sense

This is pretty much how you sell something, the reason myki and metcards where green and blue is because they are calming colours. Make things that are Appling to as many sense as possible.

Cryptic – having a hidden meaning

this one is a bit…different. But I perceive it as giving your work mean and/or to keep an open mind.

Art and Science – thinking with the whole brain

If you think with the left and right mind you can come up with new ideas that are creative but logical. It is the open and closed mined thing. Leonardo Da vinchi Believed that art and science could be of one.

Corporeal – the nature of the physical body

if we know how we work, how we move and what we are you will be able to design the best possible things for the client. It’s a lot to do with the interface and target audience.

Connection – Have an idea for all the connections in life.

In life there are a lot of collections in life, such as maths or in nature. If you da vinch used this to create and cater for his designs.

On his death bed he apologized to “God and Man for leaving so much undone

So, I am creativity. How do you start it? It’s such a broad subject. After thinking and thinking about it I wanted to write about the most creative person I know of Leonardo da vinci. Someone whom believed science and art could be one.

But I wanted to compared him to modern day creative people, so we could see how we could improve our abilities. I asked these people 2 questions.
a) How do you get into a creative mood?
b) What does creativity mean to you?

The first person I spoke to was my good friend Brent Arnold. Because he just finished our course I think we could relate to him. He said..

“even if i don’t have an idea to start with. I like drawing, after effects tutorials, playing with music and they all tend to work together, say I make a song I like, then I have to go into Photoshop and make an image for the track art then I might use that song in after effects with something”

and about creativity he said “creativity is making something from “nothing”, nothing being everything you’ve ever experienced mixed into new things”

The next person I spoke to was Jodie Cooper and artist stationed in lysterfield. Because he job is sitting at home painting all day, I thought she would be a good person to hear from.

“find that my natural creative flow is the best. However if I feel a block in my flow, I look for things around me that make me feel relaxed such as music, aroma’s, chamomile tea, patting my cat, looking through books/photo albums etc. I try to find something for each of my senses. Once I’m relaxed, I then find going for a short walk will get my inspiration flowing ready to create.”

“Putting an inspired thought into action, whether it is in cooking, art, or even calming a manic household.
As you know ‘Creativity’ comes in many forms.”

For the next part of this I watched a video about michael j. gelb,  he decided to go and find out about davinchi. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkAZ0R2YKk8
his 7 principles that he belived davinchi followed to be creative are http://www.wikihow.com/Think-Like-Leonardo-Da-Vinci
